Elliott J Frieze

Welsh born designer Elliott J Frieze launched his eponymous début collection at London Fashion Week last year. While the blue lipstick definitely turned heads, it was the pieces in this sophomore collection that really deserved the attention of the front row. Summer tailoring was the tone of the day. The candy palette, inspired by Mr Pratchett’s sweet shoppe in Roald Dahl’s 'Boy' and Quentin Blake illustrations included a pick and mix of powder shades. Contrasting lemon and blueberry sherbet (with vibrant hues of fruit nougat for trimmings) in short sleeved trenches or sleeveless jackets and tailored combat shorts. Accessorised with knee-high boots and this season’s masculine leather clutch, the look was quite full on, but when broken down they can be worked into any fashion forward man’s wardrobe. The men’s offering saw them marching down the catwalk along with the illustrations of soldiers and knights emblazoned on the back of their perfectly tailored jackets. The whimsical design added a coyly boy charm making it both fun and youthful yet sophisticated.
