D.GNAK

D.GNAK was launched in 2006 by Korean designer Dong-Jun Kang who specializes in tailored menswear with twisted details. This is his début collection at London Fashion Week. It explores the hectic and erratic lifestyle of a workaholic male. Constraints on time cause attention to detail to wane disallowing the presentation of the immaculate man. There was a casual take to fine tailoring with ruched suit trousers with drawstring, asymmetrical shirts and off-centered buttons on jackets. Portrayed the theme of the unkempt aesthetics of the slightly disheveled and overworked man. The color scheme was very muted in navy blue, smoky gray, beige and a hint of lime green and kept the collection plain and simple. The selection of pinstripes, pin-tucks and pocket details kept the workwear theme very apparent. D-Gnak brilliantly displayed the inspiration through the garments, in particular with a tie which burst through a jacket pocket, and a trench coat in which the hands were bursting out. The collection was perfectly accessorised by the shoe brand Sanuk with comfy and casual footwear. The garment certainly held a great wearability for the fashionable working man.
