Delikatessen

Polish designer Andrzej Lisowski comes from a family of tailors. His grandmother, Henryka Wawrzykowska, was a famous blouse designer in Czestochowa, the holy city of Poland. From an early age, little Andrzej grew up in her atelier, among fabric swatches and designs. Inpired by Suprematism, an art movement focused on fundamental geometric forms which formed in Russia (1915-1916), the designer concentrates on exploring the relation between a garment and its wearer. Delikatessen is about emotions, customers, subtleties and tastes. Andrzej Lisowski works with passion for passionate people because the ideal piece of clothing exists only as a continuum, a moving idea, a concept constantly approached yet never reached. For this season's collection, the designer decided to play the safe card. Instead of trying to push the envelope of creativity too far, he prefered to rely on conservative and classic cuts. He grouped them together with easy-to-wear fabrics such as cotton and nylon against a safe color palette of black, blue, white and gray, yet throwing in a few prints. Though few to no innovations can be detected except for lovely knitted ties and bows, the collection does remain solid thanks to its strong finishing fabrication.
